We read hotel charging reviews so you do not have to. Five mistakes appear again and again — all of them fixable with the right hardware and one good dashboard.

Mistake 1: the app needs an account

Guests arrive tired. "Download app, register, verify email, add card" is four steps too many. Use RFID room-key billing or a QR that opens a web payment — no app install required.

Mistake 2: the cable does not reach

Parking bay layouts defeat short cables. Spec 7.5 m cables and place units between bays, not at the wall behind them.

Mistake 3: no valet mode

Front-desk staff should start and stop any session in one tap. When the valet moves cars at midnight, billing must follow the room, not the phone.

Mistake 4: ICEing with no recourse

Combustion cars park in charging bays because nothing stops them. Signage, painted bays and a guest-services number on the charger solve most of it.

Mistake 5: surprise pricing

"Free at booking, $0.80/kWh at checkout" is the fastest one-star review. Show the tariff on the screen before the session starts — always.
